Selling to villagers

Gus and Tom are always looking to buy fishes and rare gems. You can sell items directly to them for gold. But be strategic, prices are dynamic and shift based on how much everyone is selling!

Requirements

  • You must hold an active Visa

  • You must be at level 9 for trade with Tom

How It works

Visit Tom or Gus, open their trade tab, and you'll see the items they're interested in along with the current price. Choose an item and a quantity, and sell. You receive gold instantly.

Dynamic pricing

Villager buy prices are not fixed, they fluctuate based on how much of an item the villager currently has in stock.

The more players sell a specific item, the lower its price drops. The less players sell, the higher the price climbs.

  • Each item has a base price and a max stock the villager can hold

  • When the villager's stock is empty (nobody has been selling), the price rises up

  • When the villager's stock is full (lots of players selling), the price drops

Stock decay

The villager's stock naturally decreases over time. If everyone stops selling an item, its price will gradually recover. This creates opportunities. If you notice a price has been dropping, waiting a while can mean better returns.

Real-time updates

Prices update live. When another player sells an item, you'll see the price change instantly with an indicator showing whether it went up or down.

Tips

  1. Sell when stock is low: Lower stock means higher prices. Timing matters.

  2. Don't dump large quantities at once: Selling a lot drives the price down immediately. Spread your sales out.

  3. Wait for recovery: After heavy selling by others, prices drop. Let the stock decay and prices climb back up before selling.

  4. Compare with the marketplace: Sometimes the villager pays more, sometimes less. Check both.
